(NASDAQ: NTGR), a leading provider of networking equipment for homes and small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), has refreshed its award-winning ReadyNAS® Network Attached Storage (NAS) family with three new best-in-class rackmount NAS systems. The three models, ReadyNAS 3312, ReadyNAS 4312S and ReadyNAS 4312X, are 2U rackmount network storage systems with 12-bay capacity for up to 120 terabytes (TB) and 600 terabytes (TB) of total storage in expansion mode. Powered by a 5th generation Intel Xeon Enterprise Server processor and dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the ReadyNAS 4312S and 4312X provide a data storage solution that not only keeps pace with the relentless growth in production and consumption of data, but also deliver consistent performance under ever-increasing workloads. Scalable for businesses of any size, the new line-up delivers best-in-class processing power and memory expansion for scaling VMs, backups and file serving.

ReadyNAS 4312X and 4312S integrate into any existing 10 Gigabit copper or fiber network respectively and interoperate seamlessly with industry leading 10 Gigabit switching solutions from NETGEAR. The built-in dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports can be configured to operate as a trunk in link aggregation mode with NETGEAR 10 Gigabit switches – offering ultra-high performance and redundancy. With ReadyNAS 4312X, 4312S and ProSAFE 10 Gigabit Switches, NETGEAR is pioneering a cost effective and easy upgrade path for small and medium businesses to 10 Gigabit networking.

RR3312-RR4312 “Today even small businesses are dealing with vast quantities of business-critical data that require the degree of protection and remote collaboration capabilities that just a few years ago would have been available only to the Enterprise,” said Richard Jonker, vice president of product line management, SMB products for Netgear. “The high-end processors of ReadyNAS 3312, 4312S and 4312X combined with their expandable storage capacity and RAM memory provide sufficient processing power and storage space for years to come, surpassing the capabilities of any other NAS solution serving the SMB.”

High-Performance Hardware

Both ReadyNAS 4312S and 4312X are designed for high performance business environments and can be connected to dedicated SFP+ or 10GBASE-T switches, offering growing businesses an easy, flexible migration path to high-speed NAS connectivity. The RR4312X offers backwards compatibility with 1GbE switching, providing a solid business case to migrate to higher speed 10GBASE-T storage networking at a pace to suit customers.
