NETGEAR and Acronis Technology Partnership Significantly Diminishes Backup Storage and Disaster Recovery Times for Businesses

ReadyNAS with Acronis Transforms Data Management in Physical, Virtual and Mixed Environments

SAN JOSE, Calif. – August 16, 2010 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR),a worldwide provider of technologically innovative networking solutions for businesses, homes and service providers andAcronis®, a provider of easy-to-use backup, recovery and security solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments, today announced a worldwide technology partnership. NETGEAR is now an Acronis Global Technology Alliance Partner, enabling unique joint data management solutions for channel partners serving small and mid-sized businesses. Combining ReadyNAS® network storage and Acronis image-based backup and recovery software significantly lowers backup and recovery times from hours to seconds over traditional tape-based solutions.

"Acronis’ software with NETGEAR’s ReadyNAS handles my mixed environment beautifully,” says Jeremy Otten, CEO at Random Solutions. “I can backup multiple images of any system at any time, archive them to disk, replicate them off-site and still recover – using one single console. With this combined solution, we can do in seconds what used to take hours, regardless if the machine is physical or virtual.”

NETGEAR’s participation in the Acronis program signifies that ReadyNAS for Business storage products are compatible with Acronis’Backup and Recovery® 10 family of products. Channel partners can deliver backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions that cover both physical and virtual environments, solving replication, disaster recovery, and individual file restore problems. Customers considering tape replacement or migrating to virtual environments can now perform complete system backup and recovery times at disk and wire speeds.

“As virtualization continues to drive storage adoption, business users must bridge their physical and virtual environments,” said Drew Meyer, director of storage marketing at NETGEAR. “NETGEAR already helps resellers solve tough business backup problems for workstations, physical servers and virtual machines and can now provide replication and disaster recovery more powerfully with the images captured by Acronis’ complementary software.”

“This technology partnership is a perfect complement for small or medium-size businesses seeking a complete storage backup solution,” said Izzy Azeri, vice president of business development at Acronis. “Working together, Acronis and NETGEAR enable businesses to get a powerful storage and back-up solution at competitive and affordable price points.”

The complete ReadyNAS for Business product line, including the 24TB ReadyNAS 4200 with 10Gb Ethernet support, complements Acronis in a small or medium-sized business or remote office location. NETGEAR ReadyNAS for business systems use enterprise-class drives, support unified NAS and SAN architecture, include secure replication utilities and are backed by a five-year hardware warranty. Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 products simplify and automate workstation and server backup and recovery processes in Windows and Linux environments and across physical and virtual platforms. These complementary products are immediately available via leading global resellers.
