NETGEAR and Acronis Extend Partnership for Backup, Restore and Disaster Recovery Solutions

ReadyNAS for Business Products Now Shipping with Acronis Software

SAN JOSE, Calif., and Woburn, Mass., — February 8, 2011 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR), a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and Internet service providers, andAcronis, a leading provider of easy-to-use backup, recovery, and security solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud environments, today announced that Acronis® Backup & Recovery ™ software is now shipping with all NETGEAR ReadyNAS® Business network storage systems. This joint storage and software combination makes it simple for customers and channel partners to build fast backup and restore solutions in virtual, physical and mixed environments.

NETGEAR and Acronis have partnered since August 2010 to provide solutions that reduce the complexity of disk-based backup and recovery. Today's announcement marks the delivery of a reliable, affordable and simple way for customers and channel partners to implement backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions in both physical and virtual environments. Complete system backup and recovery can be performed at disk and wire speeds.

Gartner analyst Jim Browning commented, "Backup and recovery continues to be a significant challenge for midsize businesses. The biggest challenge is an antiquated recovery infrastructure and the need for a great deal of manual interventions – all of which leads to low backup success rates and even lower recovery capabilities."

"The Netgear ReadyNAS and Acronis Backup & Recovery products combined, tested and validated in an integrated solution, allows us to chop our backup and recovery concerns down to size. We're very pleased that our IT services provider, GovConnection, was so closely aligned with these vendors to provide us the latest in disaster recovery solutions." said Michael Cagno, systems manager at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office in Middlesex County, Massachusetts,

"Smart IT customers refuse to compromise on reliability but struggle to afford traditional big IT solutions," said Drew Meyer, Senior Director of Marketing at NETGEAR. "ReadyNAS storage with Acronis software simply gives channel partners and customers smarter backup options."

"Acronis and NETGEAR are jointly focused on delivering reliable, affordable and simple midmarket solutions," said Izzy Azeri, senior vice president & general manager Americas, business & corporate development, at Acronis. "Today's announcement delivers our joint customers complete disk-based backup and restore right out of the box."

NETGEAR's ReadyNAS product line is a leader in midmarket business storage for backup and recovery, virtualization and hybrid cloud computing solutions. Acronis' family of scalable backup and disaster recovery software solutions enables businesses to safeguard their information and assures the availability, integrity and recoverability of their infrastructure.
