NETGEAR AND COM HEM INTRODUCE NEW EURODOCSIS 3.0 WIFI AND VOICE CABLE GATEWAY FOR FASTER SPEEDS, GREATER RANGE FOR ALL CONNECTED DEVICES IN THE HOME

NETGEAR CG3700EMR Extends Dual-Band, Dual Concurrent Connectivity to Swedish Customers

SAN JOSE, Calif. – July 31, 2013 – NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR) ( www.netgear.com ),a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers, and Com Hem ( www.comhem.se ), Sweden’s leading cable service provider, announced today the launch and deployment of the new NETGEAR EuroDOCSIS® 3.0 N600 WiFi with Voice cable gateway (CG3700EMR).

The CG3700EMR is a high-performance voice and WiFi gateway offering both wired and dual-band, 2.4 and 5.0 GHz, simultaneous wireless connection for fast, N600 (300+300 Mbps) connectivity and extended reach. Voice capabilities provide end-users with carrier-grade telephone service.

“We’re pleased to be rolling out the CG3700EMR with Com Hem. The CG3700EMR cable gateway is a great addition to Com Hem’s suite of products and services that will extend to their customers a reliable, easy-to-use, secure connection for all of their connected devices,” said Naveen Chhangani, Director of Product Marketing, Service Provider Business with NETGEAR. “With the ever-increasing demand for whole-home connectivity, it is imperative for operators to continue to improve and standardize their product portfolio to include leading technologies like dual-band, dual concurrent WiFi. We’re happy to be able to help Com Hem fulfill this need.”

The CG3700EMR can handle multiple connected devices within the home or small business with ease. It is not uncommon for end-users to experience interference when using large numbers of wireless connected devices at the same time as small appliances within the home, like a microwave or cordless telephone. This occurs due to the devices sharing only one frequency; the CG3700EMR is able to operate simultaneously on two frequency bands—2.4 and 5.0 GHz—dramatically minimizing interference, creating a more stable signal with superior reach than single-band gateways.

“NETGEAR’s CG3700EMR is a significant addition to the Com Hem product family. NETGEAR has a proven track record of high quality, simple-to-use cable products and the CG3700EMR is no exception. Minimizing the cross-talk within the home wireless network with a dual-band, dual concurrent gateway will allow us to provide our customers with improved performance speeds and range which is more important than ever as there are more wireless devices within the home. The CG3700EMR will help us continue to offer our customers the best technology,” said Marie Johansson, Director of broadband and telephony at Com Hem.

In addition to best-in-class WiFi and broadband connections as well as carrier-grade voice capabilities, the NETGEAR CG3700EMR also offers enhanced support tools. For example, remote management uses industry standard protocols DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS, SNMP, TR-069 and eRouter for built-in, back-end management that gives users the seamless experience of a gateway that “just works.” The CG37000EMR comes with the friendly NETGEAR genie® user interface, enabling easy network management. Users also experience easy, secure guest network access, parental controls, and a secure connection with Push ‘N’ Connect.

Additional features of the CG3700EMR include:

  • Integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch
  • Multiple wireless SSIDs
  • IPv6 support
  • New user friendly NETGEAR genie user interface
  • Speed test utility
