“ALEXA, SHOW ME THE FRONT DOOR” – NETGEAR ARLO SECURITY CAMERAS NOW SUPPORT ALEXA SKILL FOR AMAZON’S ECHO SHOW

Through simple voice commands, you can now view the live or recorded video feed from your Arlo Security Camera on the screen of the new Amazon Echo Show

SAN JOSE, California — June 22, 2017 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of networking devices that power today’s smart home, is introducing voice commands for its market-leading Arlo® Family of Smart Security Cameras through the Amazon® Alexa™ voice service.

The Amazon Alexa voice service has become a popular command center for today’s smart home. And now, using the Arlo Skill for Alexa, you can ask Alexa to view the live feed or recorded video from an Arlo camera on the screen of the new Amazon Echo Show™. With a simple voice command you can now ask Alexa to show, the front door, back yard, the driveway, and anywhere else an Arlo camera has been placed. With the Alexa skills you will no longer need to navigate the Arlo app or have your mobile device in hand each time you wish to view an Arlo camera.

With brilliant HD video quality, two-way audio, live streaming, 7 days of free cloud recordings, instant alerts, and other smart features, Arlo Smart HD cameras enable you to watch over what you love from every angle, indoors and out, day and night. To take advantage of the new voice command viewing feature, you need a supported and connected Arlo camera and an Echo Show.

Arlo devices that currently support the Arlo Skill include:

  • Arlo Wire-Free (Model VMC3030, VMS3x30)
  • Arlo Q (Model VMC3040)
  • Arlo Pro (Model VMC4030, VMS4x30)
  • Arlo Go (Model VML4030)
  • Arlo Baby (Model ABC1000)

“Alexa makes a natural companion to Arlo, and vice-versa,” said Pat Collins, senior vice president of Arlo products at NETGEAR. “NETGEAR has always emphasized the ease-of-use in our products, and the support of Alexa voice commands through the Arlo Skill makes it easier than ever to view your Arlo security video recordings. We’re excited that our customers will be able to call up their video recordings anytime, hands-free, to display on the Amazon Echo Show screen. It’s bringing us one step closer to the Jetsons-style home.”

Sample commands in the Arlo Skill set include:

  • “Alexa, show me the front door.”
  • ”Alexa, show me the baby room.”
  • ”Alexa, hide the baby room.”
  • “Alexa, go home.”
