Tetra Pak’s groundbreaking Customer Innovation Centre (CIC) in Bangkok represents the first of its kind in Asia, setting new standards for collaborative innovation in the food and beverage industry. The new centre is designed to help businesses in the food and beverage industry transform ideas into innovative products that meet evolving consumer needs, supporting Thailand’s ambition to be the “Kitchen of the World”. At the heart of this transformation, advanced audiovisual technology ensures that creativity meets functionality in a seamlessly integrated environment.
Located at Tetra Pak Thailand’s office in the Bhiraj Tower at EmQuartier, the CIC Bangkok serves as a dynamic space for collaboration, enabling businesses to enhance product development efficiency and reduce time-to-market. This technology-enabled, collaborative innovation hub is built to support sustainable growth and fast-track product development for the food and beverage industry in Thailand and the wider region. The center features ten technologically sophisticated spaces, including an Experience Centre designed to impress and engage visitors with interactive content, high-impact visuals, and seamless communication capabilities.
The CIC in Bangkok provides integrated solutions for both processing and packaging. The facility needed to accommodate diverse functions across ten interconnected spaces: multiple meeting rooms, demonstration zones, a collaborative workspace, an Experience Centre for visitor engagement, and digital signage throughout. Each space required thoughtful integration of technology that would enhance functionality while supporting Tetra Pak’s mission to accelerate customer innovation and product development.
“The CIC Bangkok is designed to meet the unique needs of the Thai market, providing businesses with access to advanced R&D facilities to co-create innovative products and solutions”, says Vinayak Varute, Senior Network Specialist at Tetrapak. “The CIC integrates advanced technology, sustainability, and collaborative methodologies to support clients from ideation to market launch. This reflects our commitment to helping food and beverage companies in Thailand and the region stay competitive while strengthening Thailand’s position as a global food hub.”
Creating high-impact spaces where critical innovation decisions are made requires intelligent solutions that keep every participant engaged, regardless of whether they’re physically present or joining remotely. For Tetra Pak, this meant implementing systems that could deliver exceptional collaborative experiences across diverse environments while maintaining a clean, sophisticated design that reflects their commitment to innovation.
The challenge was particularly complex due to the compressed timeline and the need to build everything from scratch without an existing blueprint. “Innovation isn’t just a department for us, it’s embedded in our DNA,” emphasizes Ratanasiri Tilokskulchai, Managing Director of Tetra Pak Thailand, highlighting the company’s core philosophy that needed to be reflected in every aspect of the facility.
Tetra Pak’s goals were both functional and experiential: deliver an audiovisual environment that performs flawlessly, support a wide variety of demonstration and collaboration scenarios, provide a compelling “wow factor” for visitors, and complete the project within tight budgetary and time constraints.
Esco (Thailand) Ltd was contracted to design and implement a comprehensive AV solution that would transform Tetra Pak’s vision into reality. The technology selection proved particularly critical to the project’s success, with each component chosen based on three key criteria: enterprise-grade performance and reliability, seamless integration capabilities, and user-friendly operation.
This setup creates a comprehensive audio-visual environment with multiple high-end displays (85″ 4K touchscreen, dual 4K camera system, LED panels, and a massive 105″ ultra-wide display), professional audio systems, and unified communications capabilities. The result is an immersive meeting space that seamlessly connects physical and virtual participants with broadcast-quality audio and crystal-clear visuals.
NETGEAR serves as the critical networking foundation that makes all of this possible. NETGEAR’s specialized AV switches create the robust network infrastructure that connects all the displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers throughout the system. The M4250 switch is specifically used for Dante audio networking – this means it can carry high-quality digital audio signals over standard network cables, eliminating the need for separate audio cables between equipment.
The switches come with pre-configured profiles that remove the typical complexity of professional audio networking. Instead of requiring extensive technical setup, they work essentially “out of the box” for AV applications. The rear-facing ports and dedicated AV interfaces allow for neat, professional rack mounting without cables cluttering the front of equipment racks. IGMP Plus™ technology automatically handles multicast traffic, ensuring that when audio or video needs to go to multiple destinations simultaneously, the network efficiently manages this without creating bottlenecks or degrading performance.
“We’re proud of how seamlessly CIC brings together cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, creating an ecosystem where innovation thrives. The networking solutions have played a critical role in ensuring reliable, high-performance connectivity throughout the center, enabling smooth collaboration and real-time innovation”, says Vinayak Varute, Senior Network Specialist at Tetrapak.
The Tetra Pak Customer Innovation Centre represents a landmark achievement in integrated technology environments, setting a new standard for collaborative innovation spaces in the Asia-Pacific region. The project demonstrates how sophisticated AV solutions can transform traditional R&D concepts into dynamic, technology-enabled innovation hubs that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
Since the installation’s completion, the Tetra Pak Customer Innovation Centre has exceeded expectations in both performance and visitor experience. The facility has been fully operational, supporting Tetra Pak’s mission to accelerate innovation in the food and beverage sector. The facility now serves as a five-step innovation journey encompassing Insight Discovery, Category Immersion, Innovation Showcase, Co-creation Space, and Prototyping, enabling businesses to transform ideas into market-ready products with unprecedented efficiency.
“NETGEAR’s networking solutions have played a critical role in ensuring reliable, high-performance connectivity throughout the center, enabling smooth collaboration and real-time innovation”, says Rahul, Senior consultant at Tetrapak. “We greatly appreciate the invaluable support of Esco and NETGEAR throughout the project. Their expertise was instrumental in making sure every part of the CIC works harmoniously. This partnership has elevated the quality and impact of the center, helping us deliver on our promise to the Thai food and beverage industry.”
