Visiting One Raffles Quay, business professionals and visitors experience one of Singapore’s most prestigious commercial developments – featuring two Grade A office towers connected by a stunning sheltered Open Plaza. However, behind the scenes, another essential operation takes place: the technology that enables dynamic digital signage, corporate presentations, and live event streaming across this architectural masterpiece. Spectrum Audio Visual’s integrated AV solution ensures the smooth running of these critical systems. Since its installation, benefits include exceptional reliability, intuitive operation, and the ability to handle the demanding requirements of a semi-outdoor environment in Singapore’s tropical climate.
One Raffles Quay has served as a premier business hub in Singapore’s central business district for years. Designed by New York-based architects Kohn Pederson Fox, the development embodies timeless professional elegance while reinforcing Singapore’s position as Southeast Asia’s financial capital. The venue has earned recognition including the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award in 2019 and Prix d’Excellence in the ‘Office’ category by The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) in 2008.
As a high-profile development serving prestigious corporate tenants, One Raffles Quay requires extraordinarily robust audiovisual systems. These technologies need to operate flawlessly to ensure not only an excellent visitor experience, but also reliable support for corporate events and digital communications. The building management team emphasizes that technology must provide reliability above all else in this mission-critical environment where downtime simply isn’t acceptable.
Like many premium commercial developments, One Raffles Quay needed to enhance its public spaces with modern digital experiences while maintaining the sophisticated aesthetic that defines the property.
The challenges were significant:
• An aggressive 23-day timeline from design through commissioning (April 22 – May 15, 2025)
• Installation within a live pedestrian environment with high foot traffic requiring careful coordination
• Semi-outdoor exposure demanding weather-resistant equipment capable of handling Singapore’s tropical conditions
• Integration requirements for diverse content types including signage, presentations, and live streaming
• The need for enterprise-grade network performance with zero tolerance for downtime
The project team, including AV consultant Arup and content provider Cfire, needed a solution that could deliver professional-grade performance while remaining intuitive enough for non-technical staff to operate effectively.
After extensive evaluation, the team selected Spectrum Audio Visual to engineer and deploy a comprehensive AV solution built around large-format LED displays, professional audio systems, and robust network infrastructure. The solution was implemented across multiple zones throughout the Garden Plaza and adjoining areas, with redundant network configurations ensuring reliable operation.
The implementation supports a complete digital signage network with two large-format Planar P2.5mm LED video walls, professional JBL and Electro-Voice speaker systems for both events and ambient audio, and an IP-based AV distribution system using Kramer encoders and decoders. NETGEAR managed switches serve as the backbone for control systems, content management, and live streaming capabilities through integrated PTZ cameras.
The integrated solution is easy to operate, and provides significant operational benefits, enabling the property to pursue ambitious digital placemaking initiatives that transform the plaza into a dynamic, engaging environment for tenants and visitors alike.
After successful commissioning within the demanding 23-day timeline, the Spectrum Audio Visual’s solution has delivered exceptional performance. The system has achieved perfect reliability with zero operational downtime since installation, a critical requirement for such a high-profile commercial environment. Management has been dramatically simplified through intuitive iPad-based controls that allow property staff to operate complex AV systems without any specialized training. Content delivery across multiple display zones operates flawlessly, with seamless switching between signage, presentations, and live streaming capabilities. The equipment has demonstrated exceptional weather resilience in Singapore’s challenging tropical climate, performing reliably despite constant exposure to humidity and temperature variations. Perhaps most importantly, the system provides the flexibility to support diverse use cases ranging from daily digital signage to major corporate events and live broadcasts.
The digital transformation has eliminated the limitations of static signage, with content management systems enabling dynamic programming that can adapt to different times of day, special events, or tenant requirements. This approach enables the creation of compelling experiences anywhere within the plaza while maintaining perfect audio-visual synchronization.
Tricia Lim, Sr. Project Engineer, praised the results: “The AV enhancement project at One Raffles Quay exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to placemaking, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology and innovative design to elevate everyday experiences. We commend the entire project team for their professionalism, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Their dedication has truly set a new benchmark for delivering sophisticated AV solutions in complex environments.”
With the comprehensive AV solution in place, One Raffles Quay can confidently deliver engaging digital experiences, effective corporate communications, and dynamic placemaking that enhances its position as one of Singapore’s premier business addresses.
