On the Orbi 770 Series, Enhanced Backhaul uses WiFi 7's Multi-Link Operation to combine the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands for the connection between the router and satellites, so that link stays fast as more devices join. Your devices get WiFi 7 speeds of up to 11 Gbps across the bands, with lower latency for streaming, gaming, and video calls, and that benefit reaches older WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 devices too.

    The Orbi 770 is tri-band WiFi 7 with Enhanced Backhaul, up to 11 Gbps, support for up to 100 devices, a 2.5 Gig internet port, and 2.5 Gig wired ports throughout, covering up to 8,000 sq ft. The Orbi 870 steps up to 21 Gbps, support for up to 150 devices, a 10 Gig internet port, and coverage up to 9,000 sq ft. Both are WiFi 7 systems with strong whole-home coverage. The 770 fits busy connected homes on multi-gig plans; the 870 suits larger, more highly connected homes.

    Yes. Every Orbi 770 router and satellite includes 2.5 Gig Ethernet ports, so you can connect satellites over a wired 2.5 Gig link with no extra hardware. You can mix wired and wireless: run a 2.5 Gig wired backhaul to a distant satellite while others connect over WiFi. If wiring isn't an option, Enhanced Backhaul carries the router-to-satellite connection wirelessly.
