Privacy and security are central to our supply chain philosophy. As an American company, we’ve been pioneering advanced technology for nearly three decades and take a security first approach to product development. Our home and business networking products are conceived, designed, and tested at our campus in California, with manufacturing of U.S.-bound router, mobile hotspot, mesh system and network switching products in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Throughout the process, we keep security top of mind while maintaining high quality standards, ensuring that our customers can confidently rely on the final product.
Our Approach to Responsible Supply Chains
Customers and stakeholders want transparency and accountability. Companies should never settle for “good enough” when it comes to ensuring the integrity of their supply chain. While some might cut corners or look the other way on supply chain ethical practices, NETGEAR sets a new standard by making responsible decision-making a priority. We regularly audit our manufacturing facilities to help ensure every part of our supply chain meets the highest standards. This builds trust and makes our entire operation stronger and more resilient.
We prioritize building business operations that reflect our core values. We don’t just meet regulatory standards – we go further, embedding responsibility and fairness into our processes, both internally and with partners. As a long-standing member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), we uphold the highest standards of integrity, working alongside industry leaders to drive ethical practices across the global supply chain.
Here’s an overview of our key initiatives and commitments:
- Security and Data Protection in our Supply Chain: We regularly assess our software security with evaluations based on the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) alongside our manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with industry best practices. Our long-standing partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) underscores our commitment to security. For 17 consecutive years, we’ve voluntarily participated in this program, undergoing stringent cybersecurity reviews to stay secure and ahead of emerging threats in today’s rapidly changing digital landscape.
- Commitment to People: We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against forced labor and human trafficking, ensuring fair and humane treatment of the individuals working across every aspect of our business. Our Supplier Code of Conduct is consistent with guidelines laid out by the RBA. This includes policies that address issues like working hours, compensation, discrimination, and more. We work closely with our partners to build an environment of respect, safety, and fairness for all workers. We actively manage the impacts of our supply chain and execute comprehensive RBA Validated Assessment Program audits of our suppliers. NETGEAR is committed to identifying and mitigating high risk activities in our supply chain through these audits.
- Sustainability in Action: Sustainability is a key pillar of NETGEAR’s Environmental Policy. We work closely with our suppliers to reduce emissions and our carbon footprint, and to maintain eco-friendly sourcing practices. Aware of how climate change can disrupt the supply chain, we align our strategies with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and collaborate with suppliers in high-risk areas to ensure resilience against environmental threats.
Whether it’s within the walls of our California offices or onsite at our manufacturing partners overseas, NETGEAR prioritizes ethical and sustainable practices across every aspect of our supply chain – shaping the future of responsible business.
