Licensing NETGEAR Exium on your PR60X, made simple
What trial users and new subscribers need to know about activating enterprise-grade security on the PR60X Pro Router
IN THIS ARTICLE
The PR60X 10G/multi-gigabit dual WAN Pro Router already gives growing businesses a fast, reliable foundation. Add a PR60X security license, and that same router becomes a modern security gateway powered by NETGEAR Exium, with no extra appliances or rack space required.
As NETGEAR Exium security moves into full availability, we are simplifying how you get started. The free trial for PR60X security licensing is being retired on October 31, 2026, so all new activations will begin with a paid license and full protection from day one. Here is what that means for you, whether you are currently using the trial or licensing PR60X security for the first time.
Your current trial runs through October 31, 2026, and every security feature keeps working as it does now. You can convert to a paid license at any point, and the switch is seamless: no downtime and no re-provisioning. Your configuration, policies, and data carry over automatically.
Keep in mind that a trial cannot be restarted or extended. Once it ends, NETGEAR Exium security features stay off until a paid license is in place, so converting before your end date keeps protection running without a gap.
Purchase a 1-year, 3-year, or 5-year PR60X security license from an authorized NETGEAR distributor or reseller. You receive a license key to enter in NETGEAR Insight, and you renew through your partner at the end of the term.
Want security from day one? Buy your PR60X with a security license, and protection activates as soon as you onboard your router in NETGEAR Insight.
Bought your license before your router arrived? It waits in NETGEAR Insight and attaches to your PR60X automatically when you onboard it.
MSPs can purchase termed licenses for an entire client portfolio through distribution, then allocate them to individual client organizations in Insight. Multi-tenant management keeps every client separate while you manage them all from one place.
NETGEAR Insight is your single source of truth for license status, coverage, and expiration dates. Renewal reminders appear well before a license expires, and a grace period keeps security features running while you renew. You can also move from a monthly plan to a multi-year term at any time.
Log in to NETGEAR Insight and open the Security Center to choose your plan, or contact your NETGEAR partner to select the term that fits your business.
