NETGEAR® and Sierra Wireless™ Add Mobile Voice to 3G Mobile Broadband Routers

The NETGEAR MVBR1210C Mobile Broadband Voice Router Allows Mobile Network Operators to Extend Voice Services to Home Phones

SAN JOSE, CA — February 22, 2012 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR),a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers, today announced that the NETGEAR MVBR1210C HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Voice Router, developed with Sierra Wireless™, a provider of industry-leading mobile computing and machine-to-machine communications products and solutions, is now ready for immediate deployment in operator networks. The NETGEAR MVBR1210C extends mobile voice service via its wired voice port, allowing mobile operators to deliver a compelling voice and data service offering to consumers by eliminating the need for fixed line voice service. 

In addition to voice, the NETGEAR MVBR1210C delivers broadband access at speeds up to 21 Mbps downstream and 5.7 Mbps upstream, rivaling fixed broadband access performance. The NETGEAR MVBR1201C integrates a secondary Ethernet WAN to provide failover and back-up for network access. For LAN connectivity, there are four Ethernet ports and high speed N300 802.11n WiFi.

The NETGEAR MVBR1210C, which powers a complete in-home triple play network, incorporates Sierra Wireless 3G mobile broadband technology. NETGEAR has partnered with Sierra Wireless to deliver a high-performance, cost-effective and mobile broadband router because Sierra Wireless technology allows seamless integration of the MVBR1210C with deployed mobile broadband network infrastructures.
