WiFi 7 Mesh Systems

Tri-band WiFi 7 uses three wireless bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. On the Orbi 870 Series, Enhanced Backhaul uses WiFi 7's Multi-Link Operation to combine the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands for the connection between the router and satellites, so that link stays fast as more devices join. Your devices get WiFi 7 speeds of up to 21 Gbps across the bands, with lower latency for streaming, gaming, and video calls, and that benefit reaches older WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 devices too.

The Orbi 970 is quad-band with Enhanced Dedicated Backhaul, up to 27 Gbps, support for up to 200 devices, and 10 Gig internet and LAN ports on every unit. The Orbi 870 is tri-band with Enhanced Backhaul, up to 21 Gbps, support for up to 150 devices, a 10 Gig internet port, and 2.5 Gig wired ports throughout. Both are WiFi 7 systems with strong whole-home coverage. The 870 is built for highly connected homes and multi-gig plans; the 970 is built for the largest homes and the fastest internet plans.

Yes. Every Orbi 870 router and satellite includes 2.5 Gig Ethernet ports, so you can connect satellites over a wired 2.5 Gig link with no extra hardware. You can mix wired and wireless: run a 2.5 Gig wired backhaul to a distant satellite or basement while others connect over WiFi, including satellite-to-satellite Ethernet. If wiring isn't an option, Enhanced Backhaul carries the router-to-satellite connection wirelessly.

Yes. The Orbi 870 Series is available in both Classic White and a Black Edition, so it complements your home rather than hiding in a closet. Satellites are available in matching finishes, and you can expand your system with either color at any time.

Each Orbi 870 unit covers up to 3,000 sq ft. A 2-pack covers up to 6,000 sq ft and the 3-pack up to 9,000 sq ft. The system grows with you: add RBE870 satellites anytime, each extending coverage by up to 3,000 sq ft. Adding one takes minutes in the Orbi App, and built-in LED indicators help you find the ideal placement. Satellites come in white or black to match your system.
