NETGEAR M4250 AV Series switches now have a one-click profile to configure the AV-over-IP network in seconds for Waves SoundGrid® software and hardware.

What is Waves Technology for AV?

Anyone associated with the recording industry is familiar with Waves. The company is the world’s leading developer of audio plugins and signal processors for the professional and consumer electronics audio markets. Heard on hit records, major motion pictures and popular video games worldwide, its cutting-edge software and hardware processors are used in every aspect of audio production, from tracking to mixing and mastering broadcast, live sound and more.

1-Click Waves configuration with M4250 AV Series Switches

I’m proud to say that we have been working with this market leader for more than a year now and very excited to announce the fruit of this labor. Our successful AV Line of Ethernet switches -- the M4250 and M4300 series--and the NETGEAR Engage controller have an awesome feature added: a one-click profile to configure the AV-over-IP network in seconds for Waves SoundGrid® software and hardware.

Waves' SoundGrid is a powerful technology that offers several advantages for audio processing and audio networking. SoundGrid provides ultra-low latency, making it ideal for real-time processing, mixing and monitoring applications. This allows musicians and engineers to perform and record with high precision and accuracy, at lower than 1ms latency.

“We’re delighted to partner with NETGEAR in offering a Waves SoundGrid profile, enabling users a simple and easy way to configure their switches for SoundGrid use,” said Noam Raz, Waves Live Division General Manager. “NETGEAR’s AV switch product line is very flexible and is well adapted to Waves SoundGrid scalability. We have enjoyed qualifying them for SoundGrid, as they are easy and straightforward to configure and use.”

SoundGrid is highly scalable, which means it can handle from small to large numbers of audio channels and processing tasks. This makes it suitable for a variety of applications, from small venues to large live performances. Our AV switches can grow with the SoundGrid application as customers scale.

Waves' renowned high-quality audio processing and mixing technology ensures that the audio is clear, detailed, and accurate, making SoundGrid ideal for recording, mixing, broadcasting, and mastering applications, where audio quality is of the utmost importance. And NETGEAR’s M4250 and M4300 series of managed switches provide the necessary network performance for the best possible fidelity.

SoundGrid is highly flexible, allowing users to customize their setups according to their needs. This includes scaling up or down the devices on the network, adding or removing processing plugins, changing the routing of audio signals, adjusting latency settings, and much more. When using the Waves SoundGrid profile on our switches, users can easily change the setup, without having to manually reconfigure their network.

What are NETGEAR AV Line Switches?

Our AV Line switches were developed and engineered for the growing audio and video over IP (AV over IP) market. Our products combine years of networking expertise with best practices from leading experts in the professional AV market. We take great pride in including user selectable profiles for the most common AV platforms, making it a snap to ensure settings are correct for a specific audio or video application. And our Engage Controller makes it easy to on-board, configure, and monitor multiple M4250 and M4300 switches used in AV networks.

SoundGrid integrates seamlessly with a variety of other audio technologies, including digital audio workstations (DAWs), live sound consoles, and other Waves products. This makes it easy to incorporate SoundGrid into existing workflows. When combining with NETGEAR’s AV Line switches, even if the network is used for other audio or video protocols, there is no hiccup or congestion.
