The ProSafe FSM726E is a managed 24-port switch with auto-sensing 10/100Mbps and two combo 1 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Mbps or SFP fiber) ports. This enables fiber connectivity through two hot-swappable small form-factor pluggable (SFP) Gigabit interfaces. The non-blocking design of the switches delivers simultaneous, full wire-speed, low-latency throughput to all ports. In addition, their 1U rack-mount form factor uses less rack space and provides a lower per-port cost than comparable Fast Ethernet switches.

Robust security features include IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication ensuring that only authorized users can access your network and ACL (Access Control List) providing higher level of security for specific traffic and applications. Secure management of the switches is available through Secure Sockets Layer (SSLv3) for the Web GUI and Secure Shell (SSH) for command-line interface sessions. Multiple FSM726E and other Prosafe managed switches can be managed together with a a single IP address, securely via SNMPv3 with NETGEAR's ProSafe Network Management Software NMS100. These switches have an industry standard command line interface (CLI), which enables customers to cut down their operational expenses. If IT organization is already trained with industry certification, they can configure these NETGEAR switches without going through a recertification process. For workgroup deployments in cost-sensitive organizations that require Layer 2 switching, and additional Gigabit capability, NETGEAR's ProSafe 10/100 Layer 2 Switches deliver the ideal access and edge solution.

Additional enterprise class Layer 3-4 quality of service (QoS) features and 8 priority queues allow prioritization of VoIP, video and critical business applications. Finally, IGMP snooping and IGMP querier features allow businesses to deploy video surveillance, IPTV and other multicast based applications without complexity.
