G wireless adapters comply with the 802.11g specifications defined by the IEEE for wireless LAN technology. They provide data transfers across the network of up to 54 Mbps. G wireless adapters also operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency band but use a radio technology different from the previous b wireless standard router in order to boost overall bandwidth.
