Sales Representative

Position: Account Manager

Reports To: VAR Sales Manager

Summary
The Account Manager will be focused on growing revenue into a set group of accounts and assigned territory. This focus will ensure that the Company’s products are promoted and sold throughout the territory by resellers, VARs, system integrators and authorized partners.  The Account Manager will be the main contact at the Company for the customers in the territory. The position will cover focus on growing the existing customer base and recruiting new customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve quarterly quota across the reseller channel in a given territory at target margin per quarter.
  • Prospect, recruit and sign new authorized resellers.
  • Grow revenues at existing resellers.
  • Contacting 50 resellers a day to review Company’s program and product offerings.
  • Provide product trainings via phone conferences and webinars for reseller/channel partner representatives in a given territory.
  • Support distributor and reseller shows within the territory.
  • Work all RFP’s and bids within the territory.
  • Qualify End user opportunities and perform end-user account calls within the territory.
  • Identify opportunities to establish ongoing relationships and generate sales.
  • Recognize, identify and create relationships with key decision makers and understand their roles.
  • Serve as the point of contact for focused customers.
  • Work closely with the Director of Var Sales, and the Systems Engineer to create attack plan to meet sales objectives in a specific territory.
  • Assist in the support of any outsourced inside sales teams.

Additional Activities

  • Send E-Mail blasts to focused account list.
  • Complete Company product training for better understanding of the Company’s product offering.
  • Learn Company programs, including seed unit, special pricing and demo gear, to review and offer to reseller partners and follow-up the opportunity.
  • Submit weekly reports to review Sales Pipeline and call report.
  • Learn the specifics of Goldmine Contact Manager.
  • Update Goldmine files to reflect daily activity and follow-up.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications

  • Elementary understanding of networking technology.
  • Ability to start the day at Company’s office at 6:00AM to call into eastern and South Central territory.
  • Able to build and manage customer relationships and to effectively manage time.
  • Able to successfully work independently and be self motivated.
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to motivate sales people at channel partners to aggressively promote and sell Company products.
  • Ability to consistently bring necessary tasks to completion and able to manage a high volume of disparate tasks while maintaining quality results.
  • Understands 2-tier distribution and the understanding of the VAR reseller market.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and is able to achieve the desired results in a fast paced, highly competitive, multi-tasking environment.
  • Detailed and organized in approach to work and follow through.
  • Takes initiative to ensure that tasks are completed regardless of circumstances.
  • 5+ years of related industry sales experience and a proven track record of achieving sales quota in related field.
  • BS/BA from an accredited University/College, advanced degree is preferred.
