Summary
The NETGEAR PR Manager is responsible for managing NETGEAR's press communications activities including product review program, company news, media and analyst relations, bloggers, speaking and awards. This role will team with the Product Management, Marketing, Engineering and US Sales teams for Consumer, Business, Storage and Broadband Service Providers products to plan, implement and track the effectiveness of NETGEAR communications activities. This role will interface with externally with PR agencies, editors, and analysts. The successful candidate for this role will be both creative and analytical, combining a communications background with superior leadership and management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop annual communications and messaging plans, update quarterly. Consistently evaluate additional opportunities for fit with NETGEAR strategic objectives, brand development and sales goals.
- Work with PR agencies, the media and analysts to garner positive coverage of NETGEAR based on latest company news and NETGEAR brand messages.
- Drive top notch review program, working with Product Management and Engineering to ensure that Netgear products garner positive coverage.
- Coordinate speaking and awards programs to position Netgear as a thought leader. Plan press conferences, press events and tours.
- Implement and manage blogger communications program.
- Establish and publish metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of program.
- Some coordination of Investor Relations program required.
- Some travel required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in PR and communications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good organizational skills, detail oriented
- Strong product and technical understanding
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and display strong self-initiative
- Can establish strong relationships with partners, publications and vendors, has ability to stay in constant touch with them
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- B.A./B.S. from an accredited university/college or equivalent
- 5 Years minimum experience in relevant role
- Networking and related technology industries experience a plus
