Channel Marketing Analyst

Summary

NETGEAR, a leading provider of technologically advanced, branded networking solutions that address the specific needs of small and medium business (SMB) and home users is hiring a Channel Marketing Analyst to join its SMB Sales team in its Santa Clara headquarters.

The North American SMB sales organization is growing its team to assist in better understanding the needs of the various channels it sells through, including Value Added Reseller (VAR), e-Commerce sites such as Amazon, DMR accounts, and via relationships with the largest North American distributers.

This position will report to the Director of Product & Channel marketing but will have no direct reports. In this capacity, this position will support all channel sales and marketing activities. The candidate will fundamentally be responsible for translating large volumes of data from disparate sources, and translating it into substantive, actionable information that serves as a critical input into the strategic plan for all channel marketing activities. Specific tactical responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all lifecycle elements of the major marketing programs: developing program; insuring all operational elements of program are in place (e.g. inventory, system development, collateral, messaging, etc.); measuring reporting systems to evaluate the effectiveness of the program vis-à-vis the desired results
  • Monitoring and gathering competitive intelligence on other marketing programs
  • Working cross effectively with different business units, finance, operations, product management, and market intelligence

Essential Skills:

  • Communication skills--including crisp written and verbal communication skills. The ability to (and previous experience in) getting a point across with data to support it, in a brief conversation or email
  • Analytical skills--interpreting data and reaching conclusions effectively and under deadline
  • Curiosity and Creativity in problem solving--looking at problems and their potential solutions from different angles and without bias
  • Ability to work with all Microsoft Office applications, and with multiple data sources, integrating wherever possible
  • Ability to multi-task without getting rattled
  • Independent, self-starter, capable of consistently good work without micromanagement
  • Very Detail Oriented

Requirements:

  • Interest in marketing required, however non-marketing majors who satisfy the other requirements are encouraged to apply and will be given strong consideration
  • BA/BS required
  • Interest in networking equipment preferred
